Q. What writing device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs an omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.

A. Honestly I can't really think of any, I guess most of the time its mostly only when they use a metaphor I don't understand mainly due to the fact that I live in a bubble :3

Q. What do you hope to accomplish with your blog? Is it to one day become an author yourself, just for fun, maybe get some online attention, or maybe something very different?

A. I never set out with a main goal in my head, it just started off as a "Yeah I think I could do this" and I really do enjoy the hours I put behind it, I know its not as many as a lot of you but I guess my main accomplish right now is to keep going and never give up. Surprises are fun :3

Q. What is the BIGGEST word you've seen used in a book lately - that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition and the book too.

A. Honestly? I never look up words when I don't understand them, all I do is stop and read the words again in case I misread it and then I'll continue reading the sentence and by the end of said sentence it normally makes sense, if it doesn't then I'll just read the full sentence and BAM! It'll make sense. I'm just a little slow at times. So unfortunately I don't have a large word, definition or book to share with you *o*

Q. What hyped up book do you think was all the talk?

A. The Hunger Games easily! Such a fabulous series even if the ending was weaker than the rest.

Also this week Northern Plunder is one of the features :3 How sweet is that, apologise for not scheduling the post for an earlier time to all those that have probably already stopped by... Thank you for taking the time to hop on over here though! I'll get back to you all eventually *o*

Q. What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the fuss?

Lauren's Answer: Easily The Lovely Bones, I had strong problems with the ending of this book especially after researching into the author, everything just screamed "wrong" at me. It made it difficult to think positively of the book regardless how the rest of it  was or how it made me feel.

Q. What are book(s) are you currently reading? What do you think of them?

I am currently reading Miss P's Home for Peculiar Children and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, both of which I'm really enjoying and can't wait to get my reviews up! Not to mention they both have lovely covers.

Q. Best Cover? What is the best cover of a book you didn't like?

Lauren's Answer: Hands down The Lovely Bones. Its not the worlds most beautiful cover but its simple and pretty and for once relates to the story but I absolutely hated the ending with every ounce of myself. I'd be happy to sit here all day and rant about how wrong it was to include that scene for now, if its in high demand I'll make a post about it, I think this is also the only book where I will say the movie is better for simply changing the ending.

Nia Jones: The best cover of a book I don't like . Wow that's a hard one these days I try my best not to choose a book buy its cover, but if I had to choose one it would probably be I am Number 4. The cover screams space and Sci-Fi both of which I love and when I opened it i just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought.

Q: What blogger inspires you? It can be any kind, it doesn't have to be a book blog.

Lauren's Answer: Truth be told I could list many people right now and for many different reasons, first up is PrettyBooks because it was thanks to her blog that I decided to get up and make my own book blog. Soon after I stumbled across BookChickCity and eventually BookExhibitionism, and these have continued to stay some of my favourite reads. Of course there are many other blogs I could mention, some that aren't even to do with books but I decided to name just three or I'd be here all day!

Nia's Answer: I'm honestly sad to say that I don't follow many book blogs and what brought me into this whole wonderful community was Lauren and Fanatical about Fiction which you should check out if you haven't already, so I'm not really sure which of the few I follow do inspire me.

Q. What would you do over if you were to start your blog from scratch?

Lauren: I think one of the key things I would do over is to get into my routine a lot quicker and to not let myself dry out. Its something I need to work harder on all together really and I think many bloggers find times like this too and I don't necessarily think it is something that can always be avoided.
Nia: I feel pretty much the same way getting into the routine and planning ahead are so important, and I always forget to do it.

Q. Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

Lauren's answer: Surprisingly yes, lately I've not been able to read as much as I want because of things getting me down which I've just sorted out but also because of my eyes go all fuzzy, but my glasses will be arriving in 7-10 days which I'm super happy about and I think this will help me get out of my little slump.
Nia's answer: I'm not really sure. I know that the genres that I prefer are always changing and one week I can love a good romance and the next all I want to read about is war. so maybe that explains it.

Q. Summer Reading. What was your favourite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?

Lauren's answer: Well we weren't required to read Frozen Fire but my English teacher recommended it to me and I adored it!

Nia's answer: Because I do English at Alevel you are required to read a lot of books but at the moment they're really pushing the classical literature.

Q. Christmas in July! Someone gives you a gift card for two books (whatever that costs). What two books will you buy?

Lauren's answer: Well I actually just won a voucher and bought Witch Eyes and Tangled!

Nia's answer: That's so hard. At the moment I'd probably buy Insurgent with the american cover and The Great Gatsby.

Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

Lauren: I've hopped in and out of having various blogs on tumblr, the only one that stuck other than my own messy one was a book one. When I realised how much I loved it and wanted to expand it to be much easier to follow the reviews I was starting to post I then moved here and it continued to grow! I honestly didn't expect to love being here as much as I do, I've met so many amazing people through this blog and they've made the experience that more enjoyable! They've also helped me widen my taste of books because I used to be pretty much stuck as to what I wanted to read next as I had a fear of picking up authors I hadn't previously read or heard of. So thank you to each and everyone of you and to me I guess for sticking at it even when real life likes to butt in.
Nia has been super busy with real life so I'm going to take this moment to answer for her as I know how it all happened. She had her own vlog channel and when I perchance asked her friend to help me start up a book vlogging channel her friend suggested Nia so I got in contact with her and she agreed, shortly afterwards she expressed a want to book blog to - she actually set up her own blog - and I then asked her if she'd like to co-host Northern Plunder with me so she didn't have to go through all the usual tricky things we all face at the beginning and she happily accepted :D
Ah this is pretty much it and unfortunately I have been sooo busy but school finishes soon so it should get better. Many apologies for the lateness :)

Q: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don’t like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

Lauren: Actually no, at least not that I can think of. Wait yes, A Game of Thrones, I bought it on my kindle expecting it to not really be my kind of book but wow was I wrong!

Nia: Nope I can't think of anything. Sometimes I don't like books  from the genres I do like, so its pretty rare for me to actually like anything outside of them. Although I'm willing to try anything if only to honestly say I hate it at the end.

Q. Birthday Wishes - Blow out the candles and imagine what character could pop out of your  cake... Who is it and what book are they from?

Lauren: How many crazy girls are wishing for a Mr Grey right now? A lot probably, but certainly not me. No way. Never ever. I'm thinking more along the lines of Eric from the Sookie Stackhouse series (even though I've only read about 5) or maybe Jonas from Intangible, either way its a Vampire and I'm not passing up on this chance to meet one!

Nia: Wow a hard one if I had to choose I'd probably say Eric Northman who is coincidentally also mentioned above, or maybe Jace from the Mortal instruments, or Aragorn from Lord of the Rings god there's so many I could drive myself crazy thinking about it so lets just leave it at that.

Q: If you could “unread” a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? Or because it was THAT bad?

Lauren's Answer: I read, or should I say partially read Death of a Murderer earlier this year and to be honest my review wasn't a very nice one but I'm surprised I even stuck it out for 100+ pages, it was drab and boring - totally not up my street. I wasted hours even getting that far. I really wish I had just given up with it.

Nia's Answer: I recently finished 50 Shades of Grey and it horrified me. I was dared to read it by a few of my friends and the experience of actually reading it almost made me want to forfeit. Its mostly because the sex scenes made me want to tear out my eyes (I'm not a prude by the way, the sex scenes were just that bad). I honestly feel like what remained of my innocence has been stolen by this book, and I wish I could go back in time and delete everything.

Q. Happy Fathers Day! Who is your favourite Dad character in a book and why?

Lauren's Answer: Wow, a tricky one. I think the problem is that parents aren't always a main part in the books I've read, I mean I could easily reply James Potter but in reality we don't hear a lot about him due to him being dead though I'm sure he was fab. I could equally say Charlie Swan but even he had his down moments, I guess he was supportive of Bella's "change". I think deep down I want to go with Stu Redman from The Stand. (See this book does get mentioned weekly)! I don't want to say why seeing as though stating he is a Dad is already a spoiler!

Nia's Answer: hmm Dad's that's really hard I don't read many books with averagely developed Dad type characters, so I think I'm going to go with my favorite evil Dad Valentine Morgenstern who's evilness in the Mortal Instruments knows no bounds. He's a wonderful villain and I love how flamboyant his name is I can't really say anymore because well spoilers.

Q. You are a matchmaker - your goal, hook up two characters from two of your favourite books. Who would it be? How do you think it would go?

Okay, not going to lie here but I'm not picking my favourite books because when I read the question a couple jumped out at me and I'm running with that idea.
I've chosen Elena Gilbert (The Vampire Diaries) and Bella Swan (Twilight). The reason behind this is because they're both ridiculously alike, they're both obsessed with Vampires and both make decisions that are terribly bad and leave only disaster - whether it be large or small - in their paths. Their love for their Vamp(s) often gets in the way of real life and causing them to become boring and repetitive people. So why pair up people who like Vamps with another human? Simple, they need a change and a break from their unusual adventures and it'll probably do them good to be in the company of another female who understands the things they've had to deal with and end up having a good whine and great time.

Note: I haven't actually read any of The Vampire Diaries so most of this is going off the television show - I tried to start the first book but she had blonde hair and no brother. It was odd. I'll pick it up one day.

Q. Activity! Dreamcast your current read.

I am currently making my way through A Blood Seduction by Pamela Palmer, which I won a copy of via a Goodreads giveaway.
This actually took a lot of thought, I've picked Ali Larter to be Quinn.

Her half-brother is described as having ginger curly hair and I can't pretty much only think of Seth Green for the role and he's a geek anyway so he fits. Just take away the facial hair.
Finally for Arturo the Vampire I imagine someone who is tall, well built and slightly tanned. No idea why but that is how I see him. I also can't really think of who would fit this role so any suggestions would be good - I think I'm struggling cause I don't really like him, at least I'm not attracted to him like Quinn is and I certainly can't see why she is either!

Q. Summer Break is upon us! What would be the perfect vacation spot for you to catch up on your reading and relax?

For me to relax and read? Any where that isn't too hot and I have access to my bed, laptop and boyfriend. Seriously I'm not fussy, if you can provide me with those three things and a decent hotel which serves decent food. I know most people will probably reply somewhere sunny with a lovely pool to lounge by but scrap that, I'm thinking more Sweden maybe? Or somewhere snowy so I can snuggle up with a hot chocolate/cup of tea on the sofa with a roaring fire and my boyfriend. (P.S did I mention that in a months time we'll be together for 3 years. Squeal)
