Book Q&A Tag

I moved into my new place this weekend so rather than bogging myself down with lots of reviews and stuff - which I do totally have to do at some point oops - I decided to sit down and do this lovely little post instead. Ciska tagged me in this book Q&A post, so you should probably go and read hers too.

Book Q&A Rules

1. Post these rules
2. Post a photo of your favourite book cover
3. Answer the questions below
4. Tag a few people to answer them too
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you’ve tagged them

6. Make sure you tell the person who tagged you that you’ve taken part!

To start off, favourite book cover?
I'm such a cover whore I don't think I could possibly pick just one, about half of my wishlist is going off covers alone. Yeah, I'm pretty terrible. The book I'm pinning for the most are the Barnes and Noble Leather Bound Classics, give me them. All. Now.

What are you reading right now?
My Ex From Hell by Tellulah Darling and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that?
Becoming Jamie Baker and the sequel probably! I'm very excited about these.

What five books have you always wanted to read but haven’t got round to?
The Chronicles of Narnia, The Name of the Wind, The Vampire Academy Series, Battle Royale and It.
What magazines do you have in your bathroom/ lounge right now?
Total Film! Its the only magazine I receive, I have a subscription to it but I'm cancelling once I get Decembers issue.

What’s the worst book you’ve ever read?
Gargoyle Addiction, my review isn't posted yet and I don't really want to go into it before then but yes, I didn't even finish it because it sat so wrongly with me.

What book seemed really popular but you didn’t like?
Paper Towns by John Green, but saying that I really enjoy half of it and that's better than none of it.

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone?
The Stand by Stephen King is my go too book and always will be! I loved every page.

Where do you usually get your books?
Usually Amazon, I know I should support local books and such but Amazon is so cheap how can I pick anywhere else. Now I've moved to a new city though I'm going to find my local second hand book shops and such!

When you were little, did you have any particular reading habits?
Reading until very late with a tiny lamp and totally without my mothers knowledge hehe.

What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was too good to put down?
Anywhere by J Meyers, holy poop I loved that so much! and she fraking mentioned my review in her latest blog post too.

Have you ever “faked” reading a book?
Never, the only thing I have done is skimmed a book that was killing me but I listed it as DNF

Have you ever bought a book just because you liked the cover?
Yeah on more than one occasion, they usually turn out pretty good too.

What was your favourite book when you were a child?
Harry Potter, I think? I don't really remember.

What book changed your life?
Twilight. Laugh all you want, but during my first year at Secondary School I kind of stopped reading... and that continued for at least two years before I picked up Twilight for one reason or another and then became very impatient for BD's release, before moving on to bigger and better series. So hooray Twilight for getting me back in the game.

What is your favourite passage from a book?
Its from a Silver Surfer Graphic Novel and it goes something like this:
“If sacred places are spared the ravages of war... then make all places sacred. And if the holy people are to be kept harmless from war... then make all people holy.”

Who are your top five favourite authors?
5. Darren Shan
4. J Meyers
3. George R. R. Martin
2. Stieg Larsson
1. Stephen King

What books are you an ‘evangelist’ for?
A what? I really don't understand this :c

What are your favourite books by a first time author?
The Night Circus by Erin Morgernstern
Believe Like a Child by Paige Dearth

What is your favourite classic book?
Honestly, I haven't really read that many classics so I can't pick one. Nothing stands out to me,

Five other notable mentions?
So I guess this doesn't really work either.

  1. Love that you quoted from a work by J. Michael Straczynski! I haven't read much from his graphic novels biblio but he's a fantastic storyteller.

Also love the B&N leather hardback covers, they're so pretty...

My brother's been telling me for ages to read Battle Royale. I still haven't gotten around to it...dunno when I will tbh (sometime in the near future, I hope, lol)

Great answers, I enjoyed reading them =)

    1. I haven't read much of his work fullstop, but that line stuck with me and I'll always love it.

I know right? I wish they weren't so expensive

I almost bought a copy last week but then I thought it was probably best I didn't, I have far too many books.

      Thank you c:

  2. I am so glad I am not the only one who cannot pick a favourite cover!!
I think both Harry Potter and Twilight have done a lot in getting people back to reading!

    1. Haha, its so tricky! A lot of covers deserve praise. Oh most definitely, I can't believe people who deny it.

  3. Oooh this is fun! Id probably do this over the weekend.

Evangelist question, I think that refers to which book are you pushing like hard recommendation? I'm with you on the leather bound books, they're so special (and expensive) I'd love to have a library full of leather bound books.
