New Books

Its been a little while since I last did a haul. In fact I've had a birthday and a pay check or two since then so maybe there are a few more than normal. Okay there is no maybe about it. So without further ado heres my birthday (+ extra) haul.

I recieved Shadow Magic by Joshua Khan for review which I've already posted. My boyfriend bought me GYO by Junji Ito and Welcome to Night Vale for my birthday, and with a gift card I got The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich and The Enemy by Charlie Higson. Last the Gemma Doyle trilogy was sent to me as a birthday present from Allie!

New Books

Volunteering in a charity bookshop has some downsides for my wallet but at least my money is going to a good place. Blaze by Stephen King and The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater were the two I bought from there, but I also bought The Dream Thieves (as I only had this in eformat) and Lament at the Maggie Stiefvater event that Waterstones held.

New Books

I've just given up doing this weekly or fortnightly because I'm being super great and not getting books, or many. So just going to keep posting these whenever I have a few books. After reading an ecopy of Unwind and loving it so much, I ordered myself the full dystology with the prettiest covers. I also got The Rift Uprising and We Awaken for review!

I've been good these past two weeks and only grabbed on book, that was a freebie - Ghost int he coffee Machine - its sounds pretty odd but hopefully I'll find time to read this tiny book

This post was supposed to go live this morning but I totally forgot today was Saturday. Anyway, I've been good this week and not bought any books. Though I have accepted 2 for reviews - Clutch by Lisa Becker as I enjoyed her other books so much it seemed silly to turn down the opportunity to review her others, and The Dark World by S.C. Parris who I met through my Discord Book Chat!

New Books

These months I've done I've been fairly good at avoiding purchasing new books - being eternally busy at university has helped. However last weekend I took a trip to Waterstones Deansgate for the UKYA event with the intention to buy only Radio Silence to get that and Solitaire signed by Alice. However, whilst browisng the shelves I also found a few others books that I grabbed. The Art of Being Normal was hidden away on the bottom shelf and it was a signed copy, The Rest of Us Just Live Here was another signed copy under the buy one get one half price deal so I also picked up All the Bright Places.

New Books

Since last time I did a haul post I have accidentally aquired a lot of new books and Christmas is so close so goodness knows how I'm ever going to read everything I own. As you will notice with the first lot of books, there is a little theme happening here. Not only did I splurge on George Orwell books but I did so because of the designer of the covers - David Pearson - he did a guest lecture at my university and ideally I wanted to purchase a complete set of the great idea volumes but they're expensive so I settled on this mismatched set he did instead.

 

For my current university project we kind of got to do what we wanted as long as its on the city, I took ages making my decision because I don't actually know much about Sheffield. For me its just the city I'm in whilst I'm studying y'know? Anyway its ended up very book related - more on that later - so I've been visiting a bunch of second hand book shops and a few books have made their way home with me.

Startled by his furry shorts and Blameless helped to start completing series that I need to finish at some point. Ben Elton was recently recomended to me by my boyfriend so I had to grab this, Cat's Eye is full of annotation that I just fell in love with, and of course I couldn't turn down a King book.

Afterworlds and Soundless were both picked up on my exploration of smaller book shops in Sheffield, though not second hand, and I'm back home now to find Tempting the Best Man there for me... and I don't really know where it came from? I didn't buy it and it says the invoice is for the publishers so perhaps its a review copy? But I honestly dont know.
