Review: Insurgent

Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Published: May 1st 2012
Publisher: Harper Teen
Page Count: 525
Synopsis:  One choice can transform you--or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves--and herself--while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable--and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
Review: It took me awhile to get around to reading this and I'm gutted I didn't get round to it sooner. This book is just as fantastic as the last one. I thought it wasn't as fast paced as the last one but that was mainly because there wasn't as much information to take in, but the new developments in  this book got me really really excited for the next one.
I loved Tris in this I thought you got to see a girl who cared about people enough to die for them and sometimes she was almost to stubborn for words but I loved her for it.
Four was pretty interesting to and I loved the way their relationship developed in this book it felt a lot more real, and you got to see some different parts of Four too.
This book was amazingly good at holding my attention. To prove this I managed to sit down and  read this in one sitting after school. This is pretty amazing for me because I have a stupidly short attention span, but this book is one of the best I've read so far this year and if you haven't read Insurgent or even Divergent you should definitely pick up a copy.

  1. I liked Divergent better but Insurgent had the same amount of exciting events. I guess Four turned me off a bit when she sacrificed herself and became a hero of sorts. I hare it when leads do that. Nevertheless, I like this series.
